untitled (breathing)

I am interested in exploring the space of our bodies as landscapes. All things that are encountered by humans in this world must be understood through the context of the horizon. As our bodies are the center and everything else we see is connected to the horizon. A world without a horizon is impossible. I have individually recorded my family’s torso as they rise and fall through each breath, then overlapped them to mimic the waves of the sea. The video highlights the rhythm of our bodies as we fall in and out of sync with each other, and allows me to directly reference the horizon in regards to my relationship with my family by using our bodies as both center and horizon.
