Equilibrium Disorder

There is one week left to check out my work at the Sleeth gallery. My solo exhibition, ‘Equilibrium Disorder’ is up until Friday, February 10.

The work in this exhibition explores the invisibility of labor and care work through the playful execution of sculpture, installation, and mark-making. As a mother/artist, it’s impossible for me to make work that is not informed by my parenting in some way. The sculpture in ‘Equilibrium Disorder’ uses a combination of paper mache, plaster, mylar party decorations, and domestic objects used to care for and play with my kids such as blocks, clothes, craft supplies dishes, teapots, and more. All the paper mache objects are made from my kids’ homeschool homework, drawings, craft paper, schedules, and curriculum outlines.
